This movie is going to blow. It's going to both suck and blow at the same time.

  2. i have hope! alan rickman and donal logue! (and bradley whitford and malin akerman and freddy rodriguez!) funny and talented actors! i could see it working as a snarky, cartoonish 24-Hour-Party-People-Meets-Empire-Records. a lot will depend on how much they spent on music.

but let's be honest, i'm seeing it anyway.

  5. Marjorie - there is too much money invested in this movie to have it turn out to be a faithful retelling of the story of NYC 70's punk rock. The kids aren't interested in the reality of punk rock, only the exaggerated cartoon aspect of it all which have been inflated through stories over the years... If The Ramones don't all act like Sid Vicious in this flick I'll eat my hat. The actors you mentioned are exactly the reason why this movie will suck - too much money spent getting them onboard to take a risk with the truth...

  6. Is this the movie where Selena Gomez takes off her clothes?

  7. I have no idea about the movie but I can review that poster. There's a certain category of people who have no sense of humor or wit, but are so removed from such traits that they don't realize they're missing anything. Not understanding funny things that other people say, but understanding those things were meant to be funny, they equate inane randomness with "zany wacky crazy" humor. Thus misled, they go on to create things like this poster.

That said, movie directors often have little or no say in what sort of posters or advertising their films receive. Many a decent film has been sandbagged by crappy posters and ads. For all I know, that could be the case here.
