  1. Was there tonight. Total heartbreaker. I made a few final purchases took some pictures and spoke with the nice English gentleman at the counter. Bob's may not have had the lowest prices in town and the staff may not have always been very friendly but I'm really going to miss this place. It was one of the first records stores that seemed like a REAL record store to me when I moved here 27 years ago. Not only that but it's a logical connection to the place that occupied that space before it in the 60's, the legendary NIght Owl. I don't know if Bob's came in when the Night Owl went out but that changing of the guard made sense. Having Bob's transition into a Fro-Yo place makes no FUCKING sense AT ALL. The ghosts of the Night Owl are laughing! We're really living in a world of Zombies where people seem to believe that shitting on history is just fine and dandy, but opening more high-end retailers and non-threatening cupcake and serve yourself yogurt establishments is evolution.

Fran Leibowitz said it best: "There's nothing interesting about a city full of rich people".

    …and there ain't.
