[Updated] Someone is unloading a shitload of (mostly) free records now on East 2nd Street
On East Second Street just east of Second Avenue near Anthology Film Archives, per EVG reader Stephanie.
An EVG Facebook friend has more: "The workers are trying to make some cash by charging a buck for the good stuff but most of it all is free. Boxes and boxes of Stones, Beatles, Beach Boys, Hendrix, Badfinger etc etc. I got a fancy gatefold EP by the Dentists."
Anyone know more about who these belonged too?

Dang. Nice to see this... Oh, if you see a copy of "Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow," please put it aside for me.

All I know is that this will all be gone by the time I get off work and get back to the nabe, and that seriously pisses me off. Because I still have a working turntable.
ReplyDeleteThey've all been taken now people. No need to go to 2nd street. Waste of time! (hastily grabs wheelbarrow)

ReplyDeletehaha!
Gojira: you also have a job, be grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteAs of 2:30pm, there were still THOUSANDS of records up for grabs, with only a dozen or so people going through them.
ReplyDeleteI just heard (4:00) that the "owner" arrived and yelled at the workers for selling his records that he was arranging to have picked up with a truck.
Judging from the bags and labels I saw, it seems like it's a stash from Kim's Video + Records and a portion of it was severely water-damaged.
THANK YOU for this great steer, EV. I got a SHIT LOAD of CDs and a coupla records (I threw the worker a $10 bill....
If only Gimme was still open here...What a score!
ReplyDeleteLoL... I remember when I moved from a large apartment to a smaller place; I tried selling/bartering stuff for low prices on CL and the like but of course when things were free thats when people come out in droves.
