Making music in Tompkins Square Park



A whole lot of brass-band action happened today in Tompkins Square Park this afternoon... as part of the Make Music New York thingy day... Bobby Williams took these photos of the brass action...

    I loved loved LOVED it! I only saw the two last bands but they were fantastic. What I enjoyed the most was people coming together, enjoying the music and dancing, young and old, side by side. Especially during PitchBlak Brass Band's performance!

    Those bands were great yesterday in TSP. There was also an amazing electro-clash band from Chile performing outside Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and a great African band on the Bowery. Can't believe there were not more people out watching the music. Free music does not get any better than yesterday.
