How to get your money's worth from a Citi Bike

Julius Klein shared this photo from Sunday afternoon along St. Mark's Place... they're gonna need a bigger basket.

  1. Get two citi bikes and lay a board from one to the other - great way to make a moving dolly.

  2. Actually that's not a CitiBike, it's a CitiBed, Bloomberg's latest innovation in mattress sharing and local commuting. Now you don't have to buy your own mattress, you can just rent a bed on wheels by the hour while you commute to work, and catch up on much needed sleep. Need a nap while running errands? Rent a CitiBed. Want to hook up with that cute guy or gal you just met while bar hopping or during SantaCon? Share a CitiBed with your new best friend. For the city that never sleeps, CitiBed lets you bothsleep and get around town all at the same time. Coming soon: CitiWaterbed, for the truly adventurous sleepy commuter in you.

  3. I love it!

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Sure hope there's a docking station outside the intended location.

  6. Every cititbike station should have 5 or 6 spots that anyone can lock up to.

Why is it that the DOT is bending over backwards to accommodate bikesharers while doing nothing for those of us who've been cycling all along.

Could it be that Bloomberg admin favors transplants and tourists over us lifers?

  7. Good one! Every carless NYer has been there... I once bought a bookshelf on Craigslist and wheeled it home from Soho on my bike. There was also that time when I brought an AC unit home on the subway... Took some creativity.

  11. Anybody catch the bike number?... its bound to be infested with bed bugs by now, and if they had to walk more than 30/45 minutes it could be Contagion II with Matt Damon

  12. I love that citibike is using this post in their newsletters. A perfect response to all the whiney complainers constantly posting here.
