Report: Estranged husband in custody after slashing wife on Avenue D

A resident of the Jacob Riis Houses along Avenue D needed more than 100 stitches after her estranged husband repeatedly slashed her with a razor on Monday night, according to published reports.

According to the Daily News:

John Woody, 40, laid in wait for his estranged wife, Patricia Woody, 33, to return to her apartment in the Riis Houses ... He apparently used slivers of wood to clog the key hole on the front door, a police source said.

As she struggled to get the door open, Woody pounced, a second source said.

“She was trying to get the door open with the key when her husband came up behind her with a razor,” the source said. “He cut her across the head, face, neck and back.”

The Lo-Down reported that at least one of her three children was present when the horrific incident took place.

John Woody, who lives on Cherry Street, was arrested yesterday. The attack violated an order of protection — the second time the suspect has violated such an order, according to the Daily News.

    Oh, but the death penalty is....WRONG!!! That woman obviously did SOMETHING to deserve what she got. That man should be placed in a nice clean environment and given three nutritious not to mention delicious meals per day! And clean clothes and a nice comfortable bed! He should also be able to watch a nice flat panel t.v. w/cable channels. If he has a toothache or a chronic medical issue by all means have those attended to while he is in jail. If I were King his ass would be in a 4 x 6 cell with two or three of the horniest mf-ers in my realm enjoying/enduring backdoor romance about 10x per day. Phew, there's my rant!

    The death penalty is too good for this fool! He should spend the rest of his life in jail and repeatedly get banged until he gets over 100 stitches in his a**!!!! Every time he starts to heal break those stitches open so he needs new ones, over and over again!!!!! I don't wish anyone harm, but he needs to know how he made his wife feel!!!! That's just disgusting what he did!!! And nothing will ever make those kids ok!!!!! No punishment will make it right for them!!! My heart goes out to that woman and those kids!!! Keep your head high mama, may god be with you my love!!!!!!
