Mary Help of Christians down to last floor

[April]

A quick check in on the ongoing demolition at the former Mary Help of Christians property on Avenue A at East 11th Street and East 12th Street... the school appears to be down to its last floor...

Meanwhile, this past weekend, former parishioners returned to say prayers in front of what remains of the church on East 12th Street...

Developer Douglas Steiner bought the property last fall for an unspecified residential complex.

  2. On the bright side of things for a little while and I grant you a short span there will be more sunlight to this corner area rejoice

  3. Meanwhile, the church is paying $175M for St. Patrick's Cathedral's renovation.

I guess the Vatican sees some churches as worthy, others NOT.

And no, 9:32AM, the lady in green is far from applauding!

  4. I feel sorry for the East Side Community High School students next door. They were displaced last year due to renovations. They’ll be dealing with a whole lot more noise and dust when they start building. I’m all for the separation of church and state, but this is over doing it.
