Packing up the Cold Stone-Tim Hortons combo on East Houston
A tipster passes along this photo from this afternoon on East Houston near Ludlow... where workers are cleaning out the the Cold Stone-Tim Hortons combo that recently closed.
Wonder how many businesses have come and gone these past 125 years next door to Katz's...

What's funny about this is that the Empire biscuit guys could have probably moved in here and been in business already. I passed by Biscuit HQ last night, it's still a big under constructuon mess, drywall still Isn't up, no equipment in place, the entire storefront still needs to be built out, yet they say mid-sept is the target opening date. I'm not sure they mean this September. Luckily we still have our Pillsbury HomeStyle Flaky Butter Flavor biscuits from the local grocery store, try baking them with fresh garlic, yum!
ReplyDeleteHahah, not surprised to hear Empire Biscuits is still struggling. Good!
ReplyDeleteI feel bad I never tried the Tim Hortons donuts though. I had Cold Stone ice cream before and liked it a lot and the assembly concept but oh well. Too late for this location now.
Meanwhile the shitty food and bad service at the Clinton Street Baking Co. keeps rolling. What they should do for franchises in EV is just let them call themselves something else, something nichey and do more PR. McDs could call itself "Bun" and push their celiac-friendly menu.
