  1. I haven't stepped foot into one of these, however walking by them and looking inside, they are very sparse. How they could ever compete with a bodega which stocks everything imaginable, is beyond me.

  2. The concession stand at the movies sells healthier food. At my bodega I can buy everything I need to make a healthy dinner. Tofu, veggies, everything.

  3. The copy on the red background would be easier to read if it were white.

  4. I was reading about their franchise lawsuits. They micro manage the franchisees to death.

  5. This 7 Eleven will be out of commission within a year. I guarantee it. Joe Depinto , if you are reading this , be afraid. I am going to pummel you. You are going to have to explain to a room full of CEO's how a little Italian guy from Brooklyn with a few bagels and a fraction of the buying power kicked your ass. I have things in store for you Depinto. It's on.

  7. If you click the graphic you'll read it at the size it was designed. Blogger shrinks it.

  8. Anonymous 10:14,
I did red it at full size. Black copy on that red is still harder to read than white copy.

  9. It's a convenience store. Get over it.

  10. Sorry, but no. They are not needed and are coming in large numbers to force the bodegas out. If I wanted to dine on junk food I'd live on a turnpike.

  11. Yes! Lets let large corporations control our food choices. I want to be told what I can buy and what I can't. I loved it when Walmart said I couldn't buy Nevermind because they didn't like the cover art. We need more of that!!!

  12. I want to support a corporation elbow-deep in human trafficking.

  13. WTF can you need from a 7-11? Serious question. What I'd love in that space is a well-stocked bodega. My favorite one is at the NE corner of 7th St and 1st Ave - I'd love something like this on Ave A! Since the store on Ave A btw 6th and 7th closed, we don't have a bodega-like establishment on Ave A :-( There's Sunny and Annie on 6th and B, but they don't have the wide selection of veggies and fruit that I find on 7th and 1st Ave.

  14. Also, bodegas have bodega cats. Is the 7-11 going to have a bodega cat? Didn't think so.

  15. I never shop in 7-11s but I'll defend to the death their right to franchise in NYC.
