ReplyDeleteI called 311 and put in a complaint. Its our Tax dollars that pay for these tree's and I don't think they are all that cheap. Kind of annoys me when people chain their bikes to them as well:(

ReplyDeleteI wrote to the New York State Liquor Authority about a year ago to ask if that wasn't in fact a violation of the multiple drink law (one of the "ABC Laws" -- Alcoholic Beverage Control Laws):

I addressed my question to both of them at the same time. The result was that "Legal" replied that it was a violation of the ABC Law. "Enforcement" did not reply.
C'mon kids, write some email to these folks, they are very lonely and want to hear about how their laws are workin' out in the 'hood.

ReplyDeleteOne of my complaints in the email(s) to NYSLA were about a sushi place that has a huge sign advertising unlimited drinks with sushi dinner.
The result: "Legal" -> replied "They are in violation of the ABC Laws", "Enforcement": no reply and no enforcement.
Food doesn't make selling unlimited drinks (or even "multiple drinks" in excess of two) legal. It's a transparent ploy to evade the law.
Whats the problem with chaining a bike to a tree?
