Verso finds new Life on Avenue C

The folks behind Verso, the Italian trattoria on East Eighth Street and Avenue C, have revamped their space… it is now Life - Kitchen and Bar (it has nothing to do with the former Life Cafe that closed two-plus years ago on Avenue B). And they open tonight.

The new space looks to be more casual than Verso… and here's a look at the menu...

  1. I have no opinion (yet) on the menu, food, joint, whatever, but I think it's kind of shitty and misleading to call it Life.

  4. It looked more cocktail than restaurant. We certainly don't have enough places to get a cocktail.. OY!

  7. Was initially excited that Life was coming back, especially to this corner that was hit so hard during Sandy. Then to find out the odd folks from Verso are behind this...meh. Seems just like them to try to leverage the iconic name. Hope the original Life folks weigh in on this.

  8. I find it hard to believe anyone in the neighborhood especially in the restaurant business wouldn't know of Life...it was an East Village institution for crying out loud! And it has barely been closed two years!
