Goodbye Silver Spurs, where everything was auctioned off today

As we first reported on Thursday, the Silver Spurs diner was hanging it up after 34 years on Broadway and East Ninth Street… today, the auctioneers were on the site, as EVG reader Eric Bieber noted…

(We kinda wanted one of those faux cowskin booths…)

Their lease was up, and the owner of the building apparently wanted a big rent hike.

The LaGuardia Place location remains open.

  1. Didn't go there all that frequently, but loved their Cobb Salad. It was always a dependable place for diner food. Not being particularly fond of Veselka, this pretty much limits my choice to Neptune.

  2. Uncle Waltie - no Little Poland? (Agree with you re Veselka - yuck since their upgrade.)

  3. Little Poland is good, but Neptune is a little closer. Makes a difference in crappy weather.
