World War Pee? SantaCon is the Zombie Apocalypse!

Here's a SantaCon-themed video filmed in the East Village from Local Empire, a sketch comedy show by Addison Anderson, Colin Drummond and Michael Molina.

Heh.

  1. They're as douchey, or douchier, than the Santaconners. They were being inconvenient by Santacon because they couldn't brunch? People who line-up for and revolve their weekend schedule around brunch are as brain dead as those who participate in Santacon.

So eating makes you a douche? No but being part of a drunken brain dead mob does. Nothing wrong with eating breakfast sometime around lunch time. Never seen guys pissing mimosas on the streets after brunch.

  3. Good for them for coming up with a clever way to parody SantaCon. Thumbs up from a crabby old lady who lives in the East Village. ;)

  4. See comment again, @3:43 PM. People who line-up for and revolve their weekend schedule around brunch isn't the same as simply eating breakfast sometime around lunch time. It's like saying that people who line-up for Magnolia cupcakes are brain dead and same should go for those who eat cupcakes. Enjoy brunch.

  5. I kinda think the brunch joke was a piss take at the brunch crowd...

  6. Shame that the weather keeps changing from sunny to sunny and back again in the shots...

  7. The day drunk from the unlimited Bloody's and Mimosas Carrie Bradshaw bruncher wannabes are as annoying as the Entourage douchebros of Santacon.

Eating a pastrami sandwich at Katz's, banh-mi from Xe May, dumplings at Vanessa's, beignets at Ray's, dim sum in Chinatown... during around the time between breakfast and lunch isn't "brunch".

Regardless, the hipsters in the video are as irritating as the douchebros of Santacon. I Must be the irony.

  10. I didn't really laugh but I thought it was a fun little short and it looked like they used some creativity in the shooting of it it. They are trying, and they are obviously young and green. Plus no need to blast them as brunchers, it's just a plot point in a silly sketch. We don't know if they are brunchers or not. Be fair.

  11. If they walked around like that on the LES when I was growing up, they would have been dead santas! Today, the area is a dorm!

  12. Just a late question on the Santacon thing. Were any of them seen at Empire Biscuit? Isn't that amount of "drunk" basically their whole raison d'etre?
