Stray voltage alert on Astor Place

EVG reader Chris F. notes the arrival last evening of Con Ed cones and their new warning signs on Astor Place and Eighth Street…

Per Chris:

"However, despite the cones and caution tape, I didn't see any pedestrians avoiding the area — least of all the crew unloading goods for the Starbucks in back of the newsstand. Their tractor trailer was parked right in the 'danger zone,' and no one nearby seemed to be concerned."

  1. This will undoubtedly lead to a class action suit against Con Ed.

Once a few friends of prominent city officials have their pets injured or killed near this signage, there will be massive publicity brought to the issue.

It is almost comical how inadequate these postings and barriers are.

  3. I HATE that delivery truck. Every night, around 1am, they sit in the middle of 2nd Ave, leaving their truck running. It's also way bigger than the 55' max allowed in NYC. Why does it take a truck this big to deliver milk?
