Local psychic sets local record for storefront renovation
[Photo via EVG reader Ruth]
In our worldwide exclusive from Tuesday, we noted that the longtime psychic at 199 Avenue A was closed for renovations.
But, by golly, the new sign and awning went up yesterday… and the place looks nearly ready to start telling your fortunes very, very soon.
Kinda digging the blue.

Blue is the color that traditionally suggests trustworthiness. From somewhere on the net "Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven."
ReplyDeleteHere, I'll predict the future: We're fucked.
ReplyDeleteNever understood how any of these psychics can even pay NYC rent, let alone do renovations. They are all fronts and/or money laundering operations right?
ReplyDeleteAhoy: ahoy polloi: If they're real psychics, there's no mystery.
ReplyDeleteAnother psychic "storefront" just went in on East 11th (between 2nd and 3rd). Years ago it housed a wonderful found objects store.
ReplyDelete@ahoy polloi--
ReplyDeleteI also assume that these are fronts / laundering operations. That said, they probably also cater to "whales" who end up dropping thousands because they truly believe / trust the "psychic" and are financially vulnerable.
It's that white outlining that makes it pop Grieve.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Makeout!
ReplyDeleteA 30 years ago I had a super gullible love struck friend she followed instructions from her psychic to bury $10,000 in a cemetery so the gay guy she was obsessed with would fall in love with her. I'm not kidding. Peppy where and how are you these days?
ReplyDeleteThat psychic picked the wrong shade of blue, soon bearded hipsters wearing thrift store clothing and skinny jeans will be going in there looking to rent a CitiBike.
