Abraço Espresso opening a new shop on East 7th Street

[Photo Sunday by EVG reader Russ]

Abraço Espresso partners Jamie McCormick and Elizabeth Quijada are opening a satellite shop a few storefronts away in the former Velvet Cigar Lounge space at 80 E. Seventh St.

Abraçolina, which opens tomorrow, will sell bags of coffee beans, jars of olive oil and bottles of mineral water, among other items.

  1. Thank god no more cigar stink out of that storefront. It was horrendous every time you'd walk by. I don't know how the residents of that building were able to endure it.

  2. Go Jamie Go! He's one of the nicest store keepers down here. And he's a friend of mine. Let's support a Mom & Pop shop that delivers great quality day in and day out. And don't get me started on their delicious cakes....

  3. Walter, I couldn't agree with you more on each and every point.
Here's my beef with so many commentors I see here on my beloved NYG: For every feeling such as yours there are two more who will comment "hipster douchbaggery" "Yuppie scum", "Coffee fetishizing", Blah blah blah.
(Oh yeah, and don't let me forget "bicyclists are the real problem with safety in the city streets")

  4. This is good news - their coffee is great and the only reason I haven't been there more often has been because the place is too small and uncomfortable. Will definitely be checking out the new location.
