[Memorial Day 2014]
The great grassy knoll in Tompkins Square Park has been sorta officially off-limits this spring and early summer due to the "newly seeded lawn."
Still, that didn't stop some sun-loving anarchists from hopping the fence on weekends!

Thank goodness they weren't playing music there like Kristen from Norway, no they were just in an area that is clearly marked off that they should not be in so that the newly planted grass can take root, so that when it opens up again the rest of us won't have to sit on or look at brown dirt to all summer long. Poor grass. Too late for that.
ReplyDeletePlus I just saw two young kids wildly riding around the park on CitiBikes. They could not have been much more than 11 or 12 years old, racing all over around the park. The little one could barely reach the pedals. I'm pretty sure they are not annual members. And not a cop in sight to stop them. But don't pull out a guitar or there will be trouble.
Just look at those ne'er do wells! If they hop the fence, then the whole park will hop the fence. What then??

These guys climbed a fence and killed some grass to lay out in the sun. Next the sun will give them melanoma which will in turn kill them, so when their bodies are returned to the earth they will feed the grass so it can grow again. Problem solved, it's the circle of life.
ReplyDelete@Eden Lucky for you the NYPD has a cash flow problem due to all the Occupy lawsuits they're paying out. Looks like you'll have to pepper spray yourself since the funds for brutality are low.
