  1. Yeah, yeah, we get it. Everything in NYC is illegal and punishable with a hefty fine. Got it!

  3. If your current mayor gets his way, a similar program may soon be in place to identify the criminals that sell large sodas.

  5. It's amazing how many morons blow off their fingers every year with fireworks.

  6. I wish these losers wouldn't shoot off fireworks. My dog is scared to death every July 4 and my neighbors and I live in fear of one of these idiots torching our building.

  7. Snitching is good. Don't trust your neighbor. Trust the government. Heil the monolith.

  9. I wish someone would have turned in the crew of drunken rich brats shooting off hundreds of really loud explosions from the roof on 6th between a and b, till 3 in the morning. While I was always ok with fireworks back in the day before Giuliani shut them down, something about knowing these were just more noise from those always noisy NYU frat kids made them absolutely obnoxious. Plus of course these rich kids had the big professional expensive very loud items, not the regular street stuff we all grew up with.
Or possibly I am just becoming a grumpy old man, let's not completely ignore that possibility.

  10. I had a bunch of drunks shooting them off the rooftop at Avenue A at 2 a.m. Startled me awake and scared the bejeezus out of my cats. Can't people do this at 11 or midnight?

  11. 2:25 you are incorrect. The current comrade is actively pursuing the enactment of this particular Bloomberg initiative, despite court rulings to the contrary.

  12. Oops my 6:29 post, I meant 4th Street not 6th.

  13. Moe, I'm in the building on 4th and A and the sound of them was incredibly loud. I was fully expecting the resulting sparks raining down to start a fire in one of the gardens between A and B. I wonder if this is the same bunch that throw astonishingly loud garden parties, that frequently run for 12 hours, during the Summer.
