[Updated] NYPD searching for missing East Village resident



Per the Daily News:

Brianne Dougherty, 21, was last seen at her apartment at 530 E. 13th St. near Avenue B about 7 p.m. on Friday.

"It's an unexplained absence. We're not ruling anything in or out," NYPD Lt. Tom Antonetti told the Daily News.

She was reported missing yesterday.

Dougherty, a Long Island native, is 5-5, 120 pounds and has hazel eyes. She was wearing a black shirt with black jeans at the time of her disappearance. She has tattoos of a skull and cross bones on her triceps.

Anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). You may also submit tips online.

Brianne Dougherty was found safe at Queens Hospital in stable condition, where she is being treated for a possible drug overdose, New York City Police Lt. Thomas Antonetti told the Daily News.

    Looking at her address and reading the Daily News story the first place the cops should be checking is the East River as she was/is suicidal.

    'Hope this girl is found alive and if she is she can get help so that she doesn't feel like she should end it all.

    I pray she is found shortly. Has she experienced any black outs in the past? Dressed all in black makes things more difficult.

    Thank goodness she is alive, now I hope her family gets her treatment for her addiction. So young and pretty.

    I sure hope she get rehabilitated, my good friends daughter overdosed on heroin on July 18, a couple of weeks ago and didn't make it. She was only a few days shy of her 22nd birthday.

    Daisy, sending condolences to you and your friend. The street drugs are so dangerous in this era . Addiction is a non-curable, progressive and fatal disease, we need to be giving more education to our youth about it. Compassion for the still sick and suffering. I hope this young lady knows how many of her neighbors were concerned when we read she was missing.
