Abandoned piano remains abandoned on Avenue A
[7 a.m.]
Slum Goddess spotted the piano last night on Avenue A at St. Mark's Place... and people were stopping to hit the keys throughout the night (neighbors loved that!)
Still there this morning... waiting.
Maybe someone calls George?

OMG it's beautiful and I want it!!! who's gonna haul it up 3 flights in chinatown for me?:)
ReplyDeleteWe've lost so much as a culture, people used to gather around the piano and sing, now they gather around a tiny screen and absorb brand marketing.
ReplyDeleteI saw people banging on it last night, it was like a scene from a Marx Bros. movie. This morning it was on the other side of the street by the park and someone else was banging on it. We need more of this.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually Lady Gaga not a piano.
ReplyDeleteIf that piano is Lady Gaga, I'd like to bang it too.
ReplyDeleteBoy, the way Glenn Miller played!
ReplyDeleteSongs that made the Hit Parade.
Guys like us, we had it made.
Those were the days!
That's great. Now I have fucking "Allentown" stuck in my head. Stupid piano/Lady Gaga.
ReplyDeleteI called the repair guy and found his phone disconnected. A machine offered me an alternative of a bait and tackle emporium. Sounds like bait & switch to me.
ReplyDeleteBet that traffic light was red.
