Candy the Gem Spa kitten is 4 months old today!
EVG Facebook friend Blazes passes along the news from our favorite corner store on Second Avenue and St. Mark's Place...
There is also a Candy the Gem Spa Kitten Facebook page if you are interested in adorable photos and videos of Candy.

At 4 months old Candy is already the most famous kitten in the E.V. Snap some pictures of her if you are lucky to find her awake. She's not camera shy.
ReplyDeleteAww, I like EV Grieve Pet Corner! Haven't heard from Miss Kita lately; get on it, please!
ReplyDeleteOh yes — we do need to hear from Miss Kita!
ReplyDeleteKittaaaaaa!
Happy burfday, Candy!
ReplyDeletePlease encourage the Gem Spa staff to have Candy spayed or neutered as soon as possible. At this age, a female cat starts going into heat at 4 to 6 months. If Candy is male, having him neutered now will keep him from spraying urine--which would not endear him to any shop owner.
ReplyDeleteNYC "Animal Control" euthanizes hundreds of unwanted and homeless cats and dogs every year.
Please, folks, encourage Gem Spa to be responsible and have this adorable kitten fixed as soon as possible. Always encourage shop owners to do this.

My favorite neighborhood shop cat is at SOS Chef. I call her spice cat, but her name is Mryyh and is the friendliest.
ReplyDeleteHate to ask- but there aren't any Health Dept issues with cats running around these places? Just curious.
ReplyDeletePssst, the cats are actually there to mitigate health dept type issues. Noob.
ReplyDeleteSo its ok to call me a Noob but you won't acknowledge that bodegas legally shouldn't have cats? Or that they need cats because they have mice/rats? Why so sensitive EVGrieve?
ReplyDeleteNoob dude, you don't "hate to ask" about bodega cats—you can hardly contain your glee in informing us that they're illegal. So what? Did you move to NYC expecting 100% adherence to dumb rules? This isn't Mayberry.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like bodega cats, here is what you do: 1) Ignore the cat, or 2) Go to one of our thousands of cat-free stores instead. If Candy is no longer allowed at Ray's, me and my two tabbies are pointing our paws at you, pal.
=^..^= =^..^=
Noob, there are lots of rules in NYC making lots of things illegal, but people do 'em every day anyway, and funnily enough, the city keeps going. Close your eyes and look away.
ReplyDeleteoh whoops not Ray's, Gem Spa
