Moonstruck Eatery makes an appearance at 167 Avenue A

About six weeks ago we heard a rumor that Moonstruck Diner would be opening another location in the neighborhood, this time at 167 Avenue A between East 10th Street and East 11th Street.

The previous tenant, Ethos Meze East Village, is owned by the same folks who run the Moonstruck Diner chainlet in the city.

While we were never able to nail down that rumor, a new sign has appeared above the space — for Moonstruck Eatery.

  2. Good news to me anyway. I like the 2nd/5th location well enough for the basics. I hope that Moonstruck sticks with the diner concept here and doesn't try to make it an upscale "eatery."

  3. I'd try it but I got a soft spot for Odessa, that's still my #1!

  5. Will any other business besides a restaurant or bar ever open in the EV again? I guess a tailor, shoe repair, computer repair, shipper, bookstore are not hip enough or stupid enough to pay the new outrageous rents.

  9. Good location and good luck to Moonstruck! Esp. as the little diner on 14th/A is usually too crowded to cop a spot...

While Moonstruck 2nd Ave's metal booths weren't a fave, the new high barstool tables are like a balance beam! For drinks it would seem more appropriate, didn't make much sense at noon. If one had been up/out all night, perhaps... The noisy brunch gals were also...well, noisy! It's more like a bar with brunch now.

Wooden booths still rule, imho. (LP...)

  10. I have walked by and stuck a peep inside, looks like a relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to try the food!! Hope the fandango salad following the owner to this location.
