A revamped Dry Dock Playground is back open



The Dry Dock Playground recently returned to action after nearly six months of renovations...





Amazingly enough, the $1.5-million project, which included refurbished basketball courts and additional security lighting, was finished ahead of its projected spring 2016 deadline. (The refurbishments did not include the pool.)

Meanwhile, making free throws against the backdrop of the Con Ed power plant still takes intense concentration...

    I still cant comprehend how something like this would cost 1.5 million dollars. There are definitely worse places the money could have gone though

    Also perplexed on cost. But the face lift is really great. Before the renovation the court was really sad looking but still getting use. Tompkins courts can fill up quick on a nice day, glad these are an option. Between Chrystie Street courts to east side community school on 12th there is a lot of baksetball to be played!!
