Someone vandalized the MCA mural on 7th Street

This happened last night next to Abraco on Seventh Street near First Avenue...

The mural, by @cramcept, arrived last May 4, on the third anniversary of Adam Yauch's death. Yauch, aka MCA of the Beastie Boys, died of cancer on May 4 2012. He was 47.

Here is a photo of the person who may have been responsible...

  5. Good. I hope someone knows who this cornball is. Real graff writers would never do a bunch of scummy scribbles over a mural.

  7. Here's an idea for this mural, the Joe Strummer mural, and all permanent/long-running murals in general.

  8. 'Not cool', 'Cornball'?
This fuck belongs to a tribe that makes nothing, contributes nothing, achives nothing.
It infuriates them to see the opposite: whether unmarred new windows of a business or an untouched mural of a musician.
Their goal is to fuck it up. Then they've 'made their mark', they've 'achieved', they've 'arrived'.
They can point to their friends and say: 'see that, I did that'.

  13. Curious about "BAS K WHAT?"... maybe this is some fuckhead beefing with BAS? Somebody writes BAS but it looks like they're UK based.
