FULL full reveals at 100 Avenue A and 26 Avenue B



On Saturday, workers removed the rest of the sidewalk bridge in front of 100 Avenue A... showing off the retail space here between Sixth Street and Seventh Street...



...that will house a Blink Fitness Center later this year.

And at 26 Avenue B, the plywood came down in front of the new residential building between Second Street and Third Street...



We weren't sure if No. 26 was going to have a retail component — looks as if it's just an entrance for the five homes here... thanks to a commenter. The work permits show a 1,600-square foot commercial space on the ground floor for an eating/drinking establishment....

  1. Hopefully, a Trader Joe's will open at the 100 Avenue A location in order to give Key Food on the corner of 4th Street and Avenue A competition. Trader Joe's has great customer service and management, unlike the poor management and customer service at Key Food! Let's hope the rumors are true that a Trader Joe's will open!

I'm laughing at the double doors on the units at 26 Ave B, as if you'd ever be able to have them open with the deafening noise on that block from Croxley below you, the other sports bar across the street and Poco's and Mama's Bar on the corner. Paying the price to live on a frat house row! LOL

Yeah let's have Trader Joe's so there'll be a velvet roped off line cutting into half the sidewalk for at least a block from all you millenial, hipster, old yuppie fucks too good to shop at Key Food. Let's also turn the East Village into one big strip mall with chains. KF is a pseudo-chain which always blended in with the neighborhoods they inhabit. TJ's is for the fucks who want everything to be the same.

  4. I assume the owner of the AVE A building bought air rights from the south and northern neighboring buildings, how else could they legally put window on those walls?

    lot line windows are permitted as long as they only occupy a percentage of the total facade set forth by the building code, they are protected by sprinklers, and that the owners agree to close them up should the neighbor enlarge its building to abut the windows. however these windows are not considered when calculating light/air requirements for these units.
