The new Ess-A-Bagel location: 'Almost there'

It appears that the wait may finally be over for fans of Ess-A-Bagel ... the owners have been building out a new home at 324-326 First Ave. at East 19th Street in Stuy Town. There have been a few delays.

In any event, Ess-A-Bagel took to Facebook last night for an update...

Previously on EV Grieve:

  2. On July 10th they said on their Facebook page they would be open in a week, so when they say they are "almost there" I assume they mean sometime in 2017.

  3. Ok keep chipping away at neighborhood goodwill with yet more of these "almost ready to start thinking about looking at an opening date coming up soon!" posts.

  4. Just never got what all the Essa hype is about. Their bagels are good. So are a lot of places downtown. Their service is deplorable. Especially at the old 1st Ave location. They make their breakfast sands in a microwave and get all their salads shipped in from a generic LI company. So what is it? Must be tied to some folks youth and the glory days of the EV . Nostalgia of a time that wasn't so great to begin with except you were young then.

  5. Essa just did a Rip Van Winkle wake up just to find that there are now 300 more bagel shops in the immediate neighborhood.

  6. 11:47 makes valid points. I will say however their bagels aren't just good. The texture and flavor are without peer.
