Manhattan: East 13 St & Ave A, NYPD & ESU on scene reporting a suspicious package at the location, Bomb Squad investigating.
— NYC Scanner (@NYScanner) September 20, 2016
The NYPD shut down Avenue A between 12th Street and 13th Street because of a box (marked from Amazon) was placed on the curb in front of Gabay's Outlet.
The bomb squad checked it out.
And inside?
Per EVG special correspondent Christine Champagne, who shared these photos...
The box was filled with shards of glass and golf balls.
Dear bombers: you're not scaring anybody. The only thing that scares East Villagers are rent hikes, long lines and ugly condos.
ReplyDeleteGolf balls? Broken glass? Has anyone thought to question these guys:: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQZmrdwK7YM
ReplyDeletePerhaps the NYPD should put the Crusties to work keeping the streets of the east village clean . . .
ReplyDeleteLooks like Gabay's might have had a broken window replaced. Anyone ask them?
ReplyDeleteThese conceptual hipster restaurants get weirder by the minute.

ReplyDeleteI see cookies - probably stale ones?
ReplyDeleteOne of my neighbors left 2 boxes in front of my building the other day with broken wine glass, and empty wine bottle (red) and their address. I hand delivered it back to the front of their building.
ReplyDeleteProbably some frat doofus practicing his swing inside who got too close to the window and then lost his tiny temper.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not the weirdest thing found on the street in New York. Not even in the top 100.
ReplyDeleteGojira: Definitely.
ReplyDeleteSo, anyway, about all these unclaimed UPS and Post Office packages sitting in the vestibules of buildings....
ReplyDeleteOmigod. I saw an amazon box today too. Where should I call to report it?
ReplyDeleteThis went out on the NYC text message alerts... With few details. Now we know.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for James de la Vega to start selling his "Suspicious Package" bags again.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for a research of Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL.
ReplyDeleteRewatch.
ReplyDeleteCurse autocorrect.
Al Cabal, everyone should see Brazil, if only to catch a glimpse of the first, "If You See Something, Say Something" poster. Life imitating art, or art grooming you for the pathetic dystopian future?
ReplyDeletecould it just be garbage??
