Please refrain from feeding Hershey's Cocoa to the squirrels in Tompkins Square Park



Well, at least take it out of the container first then ... to make it easier for them to bake with...

  3. I don't know if the cocoa has the same toxic effect on squirrels it has on cats and dogs, but several years ago I had to take my dog to the vet ER after he ate cocoa powder; he was bouncing off the walls.

    (Here's the answer: squirrels are highly sensitive to the theobromine in chocolate, and baking cocoa is the highest concentration they can get.)

  4. He'll be in for quite a surprise (as I remember when I was as a child). That stuff smells sooo good, until you put it in your mouth, and experience the shock of unsweetened chocolate.
