[Updated] The return of an MCA memorial mural

This past weekend the above outline for an MCA/RIP mural arrived on Seventh Street just west of First Avenue. (Not sure at the moment if this is the final product or just the start...)

Back in May, someone vandalized the MCA mural created by @cramcept at this spot.

Adam Yauch, aka MCA of the Beastie Boys, died of cancer on May 4 2012. He was 47.

Updated 7:30 p.m.

This is the work of @cramcept,who will be working on the mural this week...

By "someone" I assume you mean some squarehead...

  2. I don't support vandalism by some 'artist' scribbling their tag on someone else's art. Having said that, the Beastie Boys were a mediocre band at best.

  3. Here's an idea:

    A graffiti-proof plastic shield.

There is a shield covering a Banksy piece on a department store on 79st.

The Beasties were a great band, Paul's Boutique and License to Ill will last forever. Having said that, these murals aren't that good, but they don't deserve being tagged on. I may be wrong, but there is a great mural of the entire group by Orchard st. I think

  5. I think it's time to let this meme expire.

  6. I would LOVE to see Ad Rock & Mike D start a new band together and do their own solo projects for three artists :)
