Today's Avenue A milling report

Workers were expected to mill Avenue A up to 13th Street last evening and overnight ... apparently the rain delayed the start of the milling festivities... which might explain why they just got to Sixth Street ...

Perhaps there will be more milling tonight. Also! Signs on St. Mark's Place note that milling will take place from Third Avenue to Avenue A tonight.

  1. I don't know if this is related, but did anyone else near 6th St and 1st Ave get their water turned off this morning? It happened at prime shampoo-in-hair time, which made getting ready for work especially fun.

The water pipe restoration bothered East 7th and 1st Ave 2 weeks ago as well.

Can someone please investigate if this mess is related to the Brant Foundation bldg renovation? I am almost sure it is.

  4. They are paving now on Ave. A and 6th St, it's almost 11 p.m. and our entire building is shaking. The noise is so incredibly loud!

  5. Those milling machines certainly shake rattle and roll. The repaving part is a lot more quiet and I love the smell of hot asphalt in the Morning....

  6. They weren't paving near A and 6th last night, they were milling. Avenue A is not scheduled to be paved this week.

What I don't get is why are they redoing all of St Marks between 3rd Ave and Ave A?? I'm pretty sure that was newly paved less than 3 years ago.
