Lovely. I recently spotted a new garbage can explicitly to dispose of needles along the East River around 19th Street.
ReplyDeletewhat are the blue things?
ReplyDeleteOh shit.
ReplyDeleteDirtbag crusties who can't even be bothered to toss their needles in the garbage, instead tossing them in the grass for passers-by to step on need jail, not treatment. It's one thing to be a junkie; it's another thing entirely to expose strangers to Hep C.
ReplyDeleteSomeone call the night mayor!!!
ReplyDeleteHeartbreaking
ReplyDeleteWhat ARE the blue things? I guess I'm naive...
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to judge people for self-medicating. I will however judge them for littering. Jerkasses.
ReplyDeleteHow do people get up in the morning? This is so sad.
ReplyDeleteIt's def a shame that this is going on in our park, but it's dangerous to others and unfair to folks that want to enjoy sitting on the grass. Someone could get really sick stepping on one of these...
ReplyDeleteMy educated guess is that the blue things are individual containers of sterile water with which to prepare shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat are those blue things? Are drug dealers becoming fancy? Are they trying to copy Breaking Bad? Those things look fancy like they come from a company like pfizer.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a few degrees away from the more respectable/socially acceptable pharmaceutical escape hatches. These anxiety dampened, emotionally numbed zombies represent a completely different, more insidious threat; at least I can step over these junkies' syringes; I can't step over your drugged up, tranquilized society.
ReplyDeleteThe blue things look like ampules—in this case, used-up, empty ampules.
ReplyDeleteI miss the days of 'ludes and poppers.
