For the fourth consecutive year, Miracle on Ninth Street — a Christmas inspired pop-up bar — is open for the season (as of yesterday) inside Mace, the cocktail bar at 649 E. Ninth St. at Avenue C.
Per Facebook:
Escape the cold and soak in the festive atmosphere while enjoying a glass of Jingle Ball Nog or a Christmapolitan.
Miracle on Ninth is open 11/24 through 12/24. The pop-up ... will be open Mon-Fri 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. & Sat-Sun 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

ReplyDeleteJust strolled past and it looked like a permanent Santacon installation complete with Christmas music blasting through the open door and santa hats. Good thing the noise complainers closed the jazz piano bar that used to be here because if there's one thing 9th and C needs it's a Santacon theme bar.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you giving publicity to a place which blatantly promotes Santacon which has been nothing but a nuisance since Day One?
ReplyDeleteOh, maybe they're not directly connected to or affiliated with Santacon but they do promote the idea to get drunk and act like an ass during the holidays like SC and why not? They literally "pop up" a month a year, so who cares what happens there or within a block or two (or more) of the place?
How 'bout a pop up Christmas restaurant welcoming all neighborhood residents and visitors, not just bros, shebros, and Santaconners? God forbid they embrace the entire neighborhood.
I’m so confused by the Santacon comments. Any time I’ve been to Miracle on 9th during the holidays, it’s been an orderly and adult experience. You have to be seated to be permitted, the holiday cocktails are a bit expensive so not conducive to binge drinking, and parties churn in and out rather than sitting there all night. You also see people of all ages there and yes there is festive music but not so loud that you can’t have a conversation. I always look forward to going at least once during the holidays with other friends from the neighborhood. It has nothing to do with Santacon, other than being Christmas-themed.

ReplyDeleteThe "festive music but not so loud that you can’t have a conversation" was too loud last night to have a conversation ACROSS THE STREET. Now I like Sleigh Ride as much as the next pedestrian, at least for the first 100 plays of the season, but if you're going to write a press release for the place at least walk past.
