Per the report:
The law team Cornicello, Tendler & Baumel-Cornicello filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Dec. 7 against Kushner Cos. and 19 of its subsidiaries that own or manage properties. Cornicello seeks $102,000 for work it did between December 2014 and May 31, 2015.
In 2014 and 2015, Cornicello represented Kushner properties in at least 32 landlord-tenant cases, mostly involving apartments in the East Village, records show.
A Westminster rep told the News that they are "working to resolve the matter."
As the News notes, East Village tenants and local elected officials have accused Kushner Cos. and its property manager, Westminster, in lawsuits and in other complaints of using harassment-as-eviction tactics through the years.
In 2013, Kushner started buying up some 40-plus buildings in the East Village. According to the Cooper Square Committee, only Steve Croman owns more residential buildings in the East Village than Kushner does.
Kushner removed himself as the company’s CEO back in January to become a senior adviser to his father-in-law, President Trump.

But her e-mails! Can you believe Javanka became the Secretary of Everything and was in charge of half the US government, all because of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails? Now that the Mueller investigation is zeroing in on him, Kushner has been relieved of most of his White House duties. And you can forget about him bringing peace to the Middle East now that Trump says Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. Jared has been funding Israeli settlements for a decade, so that idea was a joke from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteIronically, it is his e-mails that will probably take him down. Rumor is that one or two more big indictments could come any day. Now that Mueller has all of Kushner’s emails from the transition, it’s just a matter of time before Jared is in the barrel.
Yet the media has consistently ignored his lousy record as a landlord and the horrible conditions his tenants endured. But if you try to screw over your Landlord & Tenant law firm, it’s front page news. Same thing happened to Steve Croman. Forget about the tenants, It wasn’t until he tried to scam his bank with phony info that he got arrested for fraud.
And there you have it, the two biggest landlords in the East Village: one is in jail, and the other one is headed there soon.
Why am I not surprised. This is exactly what trump has done in his business dealings. You use a service. Stiff them on the bill. Then try to negociate a lower fee. That's why he had 2,500 lawsuits against him from contractors when he took the oath. God, Like father-in-law. Like son-in-law.
ReplyDeleteawful human being. hope he ends up in jail.
ReplyDeleteFake news
ReplyDeleteAnd evgrieve is censored😜
For shame Mayor De Blasé-O
ReplyDeleteFor cuddling up to this slumlord and letting them run rampant over poor tenants rights.
For shame.
Can you imagine how many bills they must have ignored before the law firm decided to sue the President's son-in-law?
ReplyDeleteHate! I hate him. So much.
ReplyDeleteIve heard that Jared is just the face of this company but his ex-con father is running it. i hope they all go down with it none the less.
ReplyDelete@1:33pm: Precisely!
ReplyDeleteI have no sympathies whatsoever for the predatory, greedy lawyers who aided and abetted Crookner in his quest to empty buildings of long-time, rent-stabilized or -regulated tenants. Serves them right if they get stiffed, given how many peoples' lives they had no compunction in ruining just because they thought there would be a fat fee in it.
