Spotted on the front door of a building on First Street...
If you don't have any
business with Apt. 5 or
deliveries for Apt. 5 STOP
ringing APT. 5 I'm tired of
you FUCKIN' MORONS
bothering me!!!
No word if the occupant of Apt. 5 is speaking for the entire building.
I have seen these delivery dopes press all the bells so they can access the building then chuck the deliveries in the hallway.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same problem for a while and this is what we have done and still do periodically.
ReplyDeleteAsk who the delivery is for, tell them wrong apt. (DON'T buzz them in) If they ask to be buzzed in to leave the package for the other apt., tell them due to security reasons you cannot let them in, that sometimes packages left in the hallway are stolen (which is true in our building).
For the most part, with this tactic, we've had a significant reduction in delivery persons and airbnb-ers buzzing our door.
In the lead up to Christmas I disconnected my buzzer. It’s gotten much worse since mf Amazon Prime started their thing. Blow me Jeff Bezos. And package deliveries - how bourgeois. The EV isn’t what it used to be. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those afflicted.
ReplyDeleteSmall edit to line 4 of the helpful transcription of the poem:
ReplyDeleteRinging APT.5 I'm tired of
This is typical. Amazon, UPS and USPS just ring any bell on the street doors to gain entry to the building so they can deliver "on time." The real problem is that people keep letting strangers into their buildings with no ID check. Unsafe.
ReplyDeleteThanks 11:54! The Note Transcription Machine (Philips LFH7770) has a few bugs!
ReplyDeleteHeartened by these responses. Because whenever I refuse to allow strangers into my building, people tend to react with such indignation, like I am this cruel, unreasonable monster enforcing some pointless, irrelevant rule. What do you mean I can't come in?! I have A FRIEND WHO LIVES HERE, WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?
ReplyDeleteI ran this note through my haiku converter:
ReplyDeleteNo business with five
So why do they ring my bell?
Amazing morons.
I like most if the people in my building and buzz the package delivery people in when I'm home. We're like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd just like that, none of the packages addressed to Apt. 5 were ever seen again.
ReplyDeleteI long ago modified my doorbell so that *I* can turn it on or off from inside my apartment. If I'm awaiting a delivery, it's "on" - if not, it's "off" (and I am unavailable to random door-buzzing-types!).
ReplyDeleteThat said, our bldg. has had a lot of delivery people force the door in their impatience, so now I'm not sure how much actual "security" the door provides.
Instantly invites more people to ring their buzzer.
ReplyDeleteWe put an on/off switch on our buzzer for the reason...life changing!
ReplyDeleteAhahaha. Good. I had a UPS guy curse me out after I said please don't buzz me if it's not for me. I had a migraine and had finally fallen asleep and then they woke me for no reason. I can't authorize you to leave packages in the hallway for other people! I'm happy to hold a neighbors package for them if they ask me to, otherwise don't fucking buzz me.
ReplyDeleteLol same shit in my apt even worse I’m apt #1 so they always buzz me
