Sweet Generation is 3 today



Sweet Generation, the bakery at 130 First Ave. between Seventh Street and St. Mark's Place, is celebrating its third anniversary (birthday?) today... to celebrate, there are some freebies while supplies last.

Sweet Generation partners with several nonprofit organizations and local high schools to create an internship program that teaches baking, food safety, customer service, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to teens and young adults from low-income communities.

    This has been a really nice addition to our neighborhood. They have replaced Black Hound for my baked gift needs and I like supporting the young people. I wish them a long and prosperous future.

    I wish we had a real bakery again , like 9th street bakery. With real rolls and real bread instead of this yuppoid froufrou crap.

    Best banana bread and red devil cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Great bakery. Somebody should do a bread bakery, besides Moishe's which is so good.
