Reader report: Joe and Pat's will open in 3 weeks

EVG regular Lola Sāenz shared the above photo from inside the incoming Joe and Pat's, the Staten Island-based pizzeria coming to 168 First Ave. between 10th Street and 11th Street.

One of the owners was there, and told Lola they'd be open in three weeks.

P.S.
As the above photo shows, Lanza's antique murals remain intact.

  1. Three weeks? Do you know what’s in three weeks? April Fools day! After waiting a year and a half for this pizza, forgive me if I don't hold my breath.

PS: That furniture looks like they got it on the cheap from the now closed Neptune Diner.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

  3. Oh please. They are very very respectful of the Lanza's interior, and I appreciate that.

I'm looking forward to a family sit down.

  4. @Scuba Diva. I’m just saying the look matches up with the reviews of their Staten Island pizzeria interior, which has the decor of an old Greek DIner, My name is carved on several of those Neptune Diner tables, so we will know pretty soon if thats the case. Actually I am very much looking forward to them opening, but this 18 month Coming Soon tease job is testing my patience. Pretty soon they will have been Coming Soon longer than DF Mavens took to open, but not longer than Empire Biscuit was peelin’ potatoes, which as far as we know they still are. It’s time for Joe & Pat to give us the pizza we want and the pasta we deserve. See you on April Fools day.
