For songs not in the key of F

Derek Berg spotted this Casio on Second Avenue at Sixth Street... the person who dropped it off here also left a note on the keyboard...

"Missing an F key."

  2. In music, the key of a piece is the group of pitches, or scale, that forms the basis of a music composition. Notes and chords other than the tonic in a piece create varying degrees of tension, resolved when the tonic note or chord returns. This keyboard, having a single F key missing, does not mean songs in the key of F cannot be played, they just can never be resolved.
