Prepping for the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival in Tompkins Square Park
The stage for the 26th annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival rolled into Tompkins Square Park yesterday... (find the lineup for the free show, which is 3-7 p.m. today, right here).
And this morning...
... and later this morning (added at 11:30 a.m.)...

Ahead of the show, Park workers yesterday filled in the tranquil pond/mud bath/T-Rex footprint, which looked like...

Unfortunately, the infill didn't last... a tire track appeared later in the day...

Disgraceful. Shows the Parks Dept. is only concerned with promoting and holding concerts, outdoor movies and "events" than maintaining the cleanliness, safety and infrastructure of the parks. Especially since Summerstage has a branded rig.

It’s also Women’s Equality Day and the Topless March is about to begin in midtown, so hopefully the two events will eventually converge and become the Charlie Parker Topless Jazz Festival.
