  3. Oh this was next level annoyance. Sustained buzzing of every buzzer in the building over and over again. I don’t blame the guy for being enraged, It sucked!

  5. Good way for deviants and robbers to get into buildings. I approve that message.

I bet Airbnb customers do this shit too.

  6. As a regular recipient of these middle of the night nuisances, I appreciate both the sentiment and the pink ink it was rendered in.

  9. Being blessed in a new building I have a buzzer system I can mute. I do so as I go to bed and turn back on in the morning during coffee. The letter reflects the annoyance but lacks eloquence and wit to make the point just a display of vulgarism unplugged.

  10. Anon. 7:52, I think the vulgarism on display here is all on your side of the fence. "Blessed in a new building" - which means you have the coin to afford to pay a lot of money to live down here - and turning on your buzzer "during coffee" (yawn) bespeaks a certain braggart crassness, to say nothing of unfamiliarity with the realities of being in a NOT-blessed building, where you can be harassed in the wee hours on a regular basis by total strangers, just so they can get a kick out of knowing they're disturbing people they have never met just for the hell of it. I am an insomniac, who, if I am awoken once I get to sleep, knows that my fate is to stay awake the rest of the night while I watch the clock tick down to the moment my alarm will go off so I can get up and go to work utterly exhausted. You have no idea if the writer of this letter has the same issue, or how often s/he has been jolted awake mid-sleep by insistent loud ringing. What you do know is that s/he has been driven past the point of endurance, and you should also know that s/he has every right to express rage and frustration. Until you are similarly bothered, please go back to drinking your coffee in your precious abode.

  11. Just another night in the EV. If I wrote notes every time this happened to me over the years I would be spending a lot of time writing notes. Best revenge? Just go back to sleep.

  13. I for one turn my buzzer off while shampooing my pooch before heading to Boris and Horton's downstairs for coffee. For the love of god if you're going to live here at least support local business.

  14. @Gojira: As someone who lives in apartment that's widely presumed to be the super's (but it's not!), I long ago grew tired of having the buzzer ring a zillion times a day (and evening) with "Do you have any apartments for rent?" I modified the intercom panel INSIDE my apartment so that I *can* turn my buzzer off. Someone can stand outside & lean on that buzzer until kingdom come, and I don't hear a thing.

Therefore, I suggest people might want to get in touch with their local locksmith or electrician and ask about this. It's not rocket science to do this, and mine is done in a way that can easily be returned to the original configuration in about 10 minutes.
