Grant Shaffer's NY See

Here's the latest installment of NY See, East Village-based illustrator Grant Shaffer's comic series — an observational sketch diary of things that he sees and hears around the neighborhood — and NYC. (And recently featured on the #ArtOnLink campaign via LinkNYC.)

  1. As always, classic New York moments. I know a girl who used to dumpster dive for food. One day she was climbing out of a dumpster at the same time the truck was backing up to pick up the load. It crushed both of her legs, and everyone said she would never walk again. After years of rehab and having several erector sets implanted in both of her legs, she’s back to walking like any norma person. She sued the gourmet food store that used the dumpster and won millions in a court settlement. Now she doesn’t need to dumpster dive for food anymore.

  3. Congrats on the Link NYC appearances! Maybe not as "cool" as being on EV Grieve, but, well, actually it's pretty cool that something so quintessential NY is on those.

  4. I agree! Congrats! I was happy to see Grant get the attention. He deserves it. The illustrations and content are original and funny and VERY NYC.
