Behold the Russo's-Black Seed bagel bread bomb

Russo’s Mozzarella and Pasta, the neighborhood institution (circa 1908) over on 11th Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue, has teamed up with Black Seed Bagels for this combo sandwich — bagel bread stuffed with prosciutto and handmade mozzarella and served with a pesto dipping sauce.

The creation is available all month at any of the Black Seed locations, including the one at 176 First Ave. between 10th Street and 11th Street.

  1. Looks more like a calzone than a bagel and I want one.

  2. Agree with Anon. 8:04, I want one, but NOT with a pesto dipping sauce, I want a bucket of traditional red sauce to dunk it in!

  3. Just tried it - ty Grieve! It was great - definitely more calzone-like, but the prosciutto was perfectly salty and the cheese chewy and rich.

  7. Next, a [insert resto/eatery name here]--Black Seed bagel bread cheesesteak bomb, or Black Seed bread pizza bomb, or Black Seed bagel bread panzerotti bomb... Just stick the Black Seed bagel brand name and charge exorbitant amount for it to an otherwise affordable food staple.
