Commodities is now temporarily closed on 1st Avenue



Updated 4/13 — Commodities is back open now with hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Several EVG readers reported that Commodities was planning to close up shop on Sunday.

Walked by yesterday for a confirmation — the market is currently closed for an unspecified amount of time...



Meanwhile, two blocks to the south, East Village Organic is expected to reopen for business on Friday after a short break.

    Whole Foods shoppers is outnumbered by the Amazon grocery packers for the home delivery.

    we're down to a couple of markets now - I think I have to go to 6th Ave for Natural Foods now. I DO NOT SHOP AT AMAZON. It is getting grimmer and grimmer.

    really hoping EVO opens again later this week, we've got Whole Food workers doing a sick out, and all our small local shops closing. would love to not have to order online or go to TJs for our next haul...

    What about Key Foods, Associated and C Town? There are grocery stores you can go to.

    Commodities has been around for a long time. Their prices are fair. I love this place. Comeback soon.
