Idles are one of my favorite UK bands at the moment. Joe Talbot is one of the best punk vocalists out there. This tracks sounds a bit like Art Brut but Joe's throaty manic vocals would blow Eddie Argos out of the water any day. Richard Lloyd of Television once remarked that Punk started at CBGBs and spread like a virus around the world. Good to see that ripple effect go on and on.............
ReplyDeletePunk did not start at CBGBs. That's just a revisionist rewriting of history by Americans in the last 20 years.
DeleteReally Good and Exciting. Sqw them on NPR's Tiny Desk...Man they ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
ReplyDelete@10:29- NY Dolls, Suicide, Television, Blondie, Ramones, Talking Heads, Mink de Ville, were fully formed bands while Johnny Rotten was still wanking around Finsbury Park.
