New Yorkers: I’ve spoken with @NYGovCuomo and for everyone’s safety we have decided to implement a citywide curfew in New York City tonight. It will take effect at 11pm and be lifted at 5am tomorrow morning.

Better than no curfew, but they should have made it for 10 PM instead of 11 PM.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, neither the gov nor the mayor lives around here, so they really don't much care.
Mayor DeBlassio is a coward. Why now? My family lives in Salt Lake City. My sister said they had a 4pm curfew put down on Saturday. They didn't nearly have the chaos we did nor the amount of people in the area, yet it has taken him until now to impose it? Especially after last night. Really Bill? What an abject failure of a mayor. Zero leadership.
ReplyDeleteI could see how you could get a bunch of Mormons to all comply with a 4pm curfew, but in NYC???
ReplyDeleteThere were protests in SLC? Black population is under 2%. Maybe that’s their version of ‘diverse’, since Utah statewide is only 1%.
That’s a stretch to compare governing SLC (population 201,000) to NYC (population over 8 million )
DeleteI mean with nothing open... I haven't really had a reason to go out after 9pm anyway. That said 11 makes sense as some restaurants have delivery until 10pm. I feel like when I was 18 and my parents still insisted on a 12am curfew. I hated it but it probably saved me a few arrests
ReplyDeleteSo what happens if you break curfew? Do you get grounded for week?
