I went to the theater for the new city polling site at 6 AM. They were having problems trying to open. I waited until l6:25 and left...still was not open...outrageous!
ReplyDeleteVote early, vote often. Vote for my crook, or for your crook, or for your dog's crook.
ReplyDeleteConsider a write in for Trickie Dickie, but not Trickie Donnie.
I'm hoping a lot of people took advantage of the early voting option; I did, and it was a weight off my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteVoting absentee makes things safer for everyone.
Hi Anon @7:07am. I am a poll worker at Theatre for the New City for over 15 years. We try very hard to serve our voters and do the very best we can under some extremely trying circumstances. This morning, we were without our coordinator who runs the room and is in charge of all we do. Supplies and tables were missing, including the PPE we were promised for ourselves. We were down over 8 people with no shows, we had no training update or knowledge of many of the procedures we were expected to perform, and we were without the password to open our iPad poll books. I am so sorry you were held up and inconvenienced. I wish we could have been open and ready to serve you. Please call the BOE after this election is over and express your thoughts about your experience to them.
ReplyDeleteI got my absentee ballot yesterday & - as much as I hate the post office - I decided to fill it out and walk all the way to the lovely intersection of 14th & First and drop it at the PO instead of going to my new poll site.
ReplyDeleteAnon. 7:07, so why don't you sign up to be a poll worker and make everything run like clockwork? Im sure, given your level of outrage at the way things were going, that you believe you could make it all better. Hint - don't go right when ANYTHING opens, much less a polling place. I went at 1:30, walked in, no one was there, everything was working perfectly, and I was in and out in under three minutes, with a new pen to boot.
