Calling out a plant thief on 7th Street

Someone is understandably upset about the plant theft in this tree well on Seventh Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue... EVG reader Robert Miner shares photos of the messages left at the scene...

"Cutting out my plants. You are worse than rats. You are very sick person." (Above!)

And: "Cutting my plants. Breaking my grill. You're a sick person. You need to see a doctor."

  2. You really need some help. A regular psychiatrist couldn't even help you. You need to go to, like, Vienna or something. You know what I mean? You need to get involved at the university level, like where Freud studied, and have all those people looking at you and checking up on you. That's the kind of help you need. Not the once-a-week for eighty bucks, no. You need a team. A team of psychiatrists working around the clock, thinking about you, having conferences, observing you like the way they did with the elephant man. That's what I'm talking about, because that's the only way you're going to get better.

  3. This is why I grow only poisonous plants around my tree. Touch them and the effect is similar to being bitten by a rattle snake. Happy convulsing.

  4. I feel for this person, trying to bring a little nature and beauty onto one of our neighborhood street's takes some effort to maintain beside the cost of plants and all for the benefit of passersby. The person mocking this gardener should be ashamed of their comment and perhaps has more "issues" than they care to admit.

  5. Assholes. Who the fuck does this? It's petty and cruel. Let's hope someone catches them in the act next time.
