Inexpensive eats favorite Punjabi Grocery & Deli reopens Friday here at 114 First St. between Avenue A and First Avenue... hours have yet to be determined...

The small, no-frills shop that offers delicious fare such as curried chickpeas and saag and samosas, closed on March 21 as the COVID-19 crisis took hold in NYC. This is a very welcome return.

  1. Great! so good to have this delicious street food back! No need to wander the treets of Dehli when we have it right here, MY friends from Benares ate her 3 times a day...."The Dhabba" bahut swadiste (very tasty!)

  4. That just caused me immense happiness. I live on 2nd right off A, I have missed my ritual waiting for the sun to set with a somosa. My people watching with their great food on Houston St... I am so relieved.
