Updated: 7th Street Burger opened on June 3.
Not sure at the moment who's behind this venture. Per their website: "7th Street Burger offers classic American smash-burgers for takeout and delivery."
The menu on the website includes a cheeseburger ($6), an Impossible burger ($7.50) and a grilled cheese ($3.50). They'll also serve Mexican Coca-Cola.
This space was previously the longtime home to Caracas Arepa Bar, which closed last fall.
Perfect for the thrifty readers.

DeleteI really hate to exhume a phrase popularized by a discarded conman, but is this 'fake news'? The prices seem too good to be true, and the phone number on the website uses the fictitious 'TV' area code and suffix, "555". Hope my intuition is wrong, as it so often is.

In the "contact us" section, there's a normal 646-number

Looks like Shake Shack prices. Sounds like a Shake Shack menu. Here's your alternative to shake shack that maybe will accept cash
ReplyDeleteFor about $2 more, you can buy a pack of 4 impossible patties from Whole Foods and make a similar burger with additional servings.

ReplyDelete@beacon well yes, but a) i'd have to buy the buns and the other ingredients, so add a few more dollars still, and b) the restaurant's time and labor has value. i think a few dollars is a rather fair price for them making food for me. also, it's $7.50 for a burger. what's your benchmark for a reasonably priced burger at a brick and mortar restaurant? even burger king's impossible burger is $7.50.

ReplyDeleteIf I order or eat out in the city, I don't do burgers because it's something I can make at home without much difficulty and it's cost effective.
The only time I would order a burger is when I'm north of the city in some remote area devoid of other types of food which usually goes well with a cold beer. So think of a brewery that serves burgers in the scenic countryside especially during the warmer months.
