Sunday's parting shots
A big weekend for discarded furniture with the end-of-the-month move ins and move outs... the above photo was spotted on Ninth Street (thank you Steven!)... and below on 11th Street (thank you Carol from East 5th Street!)
... and Ninth Street at Second Avenue (thank you Doug!) ...

Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
Discarded furniture, sometimes good items, are repurposed by those who are less fortunate and this guy thinks he's creating art! More like vanity and conceit than anything close to art.
ReplyDeleteSo, further proof of idiocy and jackassery: taggin done by someone whose juvenile mind can't fathom the concept that one MIGHT kindly leave furniture that's still in decent condition alone, so that someone who really needs that furniture might benefit.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is how you know the way civilization is going, and it's not looking good at the moment. People need to HELP other people, not vandalize everything they see.
PS: It would have been nice if the original owners of these pieces of furniture had bothered to offer them on Freecycle or similar.
Man, it's too bad this guy tagged this furniture. It is all usable and someone would have taken it.
ReplyDeleteThis would have been perfect for the Instagram @stoopingeastvillage account, someone could have used these before Spray Can Sam got to them first.

I'd sleep on the floor before I'd drag a bedbug-infested sofa up five flights—with landings—up to my sixth-floor penthouse suite!
