A 'Wild Style' anniversary
The Sourcenotes an anniversary for "Wild Style" ... the hip-hop classic starring Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quinones, Patti Astor, Lady Pink, the Rock Steady Crew, the Cold Crush Brothers, Queen Lisa Lee of Zulu Nation and Grandmaster Flash, among many others, made its theatrical premiere 39 years ago, on March 18, 1983, as part of the New Directors/New Films Festival at the 57th Street Playhouse ... before a commercial release later that year.
